The London Independent Film Festival (LIFF), run by Festival Director Erich Schultz and Artistic Director Maxine Green takes place in London next year between April 15th – 27th at, among other venues, the Curzon in Shaftesbury Avenue, one of the festival’s main sponsors. 

Dedicated to the independent filmmaker, the LIFF provides a vital platform for micro-budget and no-budget films in the UK and an important opportunity for independent filmmakers to showcase their achievements.  It also provides a home for films that have either been overlooked by other festivals or which simply don’t fit the bigger picture…yet. 

As well as presenting the best of low-budget filmmaking in four categories – feature films, documentaries, UK shorts and international shorts - LIFF also run the UK’s biggest screenplay competition sponsored by digital production facilities house, Prime Focus Ltd.  Workshops are also a popular part of the festival’s daily programme and talks by award winners – such as the UK director Julien Temple or Oscar winner Mike Figgis – are must-see highlights.
