NEW British Movie "The Calling" is having its London Premiere on 15th April 2010. It is the opening movie at the London Independent Film Festival, FilmAid are offering YOU the chance to attend!

FilmAid - Who are we?

FilmAid is the magical idea of one person, Lynne Hadley.

FilmAid has no employees nor does anyone contributing gain anything from the work we do other than a good name for themselves and the immense feelings of self satisfaction.

Lynne Hadley is a full time nurse specialising in Ophthalmics across several Kent hospitals, she has spent her entire adult life providing and caring for others from children to the elderly Lynne has spent time working and caring.

In the mid 1990's Lynne began to take an interest in raising money for charity and giving up time from her work and family life to volunteer for aid services.

Since this time her voluntary aid work has taken her oversea's on several occassions, including working in Cambodia &India. .

In 2004, Lynne lost her closest friend who had been long battling with cancer.

Inspired by the loss of her friend, in 2006 Lynne discovered Macmillan Cancer Support offered a range of fund raising challenges.

Within a couple of weeks Lynne had signed up to walk the Great Wall of China in 2007.

The walk however was not the only part of the challenge, Lynne was actually to raise £2700 for Macmillan before leaving to attept the challenge.

It was at this time when Lynne had the inspirational idea of hosting a cinematic event which would include the star of the movie attending and afterwards allow the audience to throw questions at them. It wasn't long before Lynne had pulled the right strings and managed to short list Hollywood star Timothy Spall to take the seat centre stage. The film in question was the amazing "Pierrepoint" based on the life of Albert Pierrepoint, the last hangman in Britain. The night was a success,Timothy even contributed to holding an auction and signed many of the winning prizes.

Shortly afterwards, Lynne flew to china and successfully completed the intense trek, eventually the film night along with the trek managed to raise £3100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Untarnished by the trek in China in 2009 Lynne found it upon herself to sign up for yet another challenge on the behalf of Macmillan, this time roughing the sand dunes and desert terrain of the Sahara.

Once again Lynne has to raise near £2500 for Macmillan prior to taking the challenge!
